Vrouwe Berber

Pre-owned ca. 1965

Sold

Description

The ‘Vrouwe Berber’ has pleasant sailing characteristics, is stable and is nice to sail. She has the looks of "a Vollenhovense bol". But she is a bit too short for that. This boat has rounded sides and a round bow. In the first half of the sixties she is built at the yard "De Waterlelie" in Reeuwijk.

This traditional sailing boat is easy to sail and has an authentic appearance. The mast of this sailing boat can be lowered, the sails are still good, but have been used for a quite some time.

Interior:
Below deck, there is a practical living area. The benches in the saloon can be used as single berths and the port berth can easily be made into a double bed. There is storage space for, for example, sails, a bathing ladder and a folding bike.

Directly at the entrance of the cabin on starboard side are a cupboard and three drawers for "galley mittens", a sink with hand-operating pump and a two-burner spirit cooker. The water comes from a 70 litre water tank, which is located under the starboard berth.

Under the port berth is the battery that can be switched off with a main switch. The Albin petrol engine, with its two cylinders and 10 HP, has enough power to comfortably power the boat.

Personal note from the owners:
More than 25 years ago, we were able to buy the boat we had been longing for from the first owner. What a joy! For years, we have enjoyed the ship and maintained it with loving care. We have had wonderful holidays in Friesland and Overijssel. The shallow draught makes it possible to go almost anywhere! What a pleasure. Waking up in the morning in the middle of the world!

And now - we are getting older! - we are looking for a next owner who can enjoy it for many years to come.

We hope to reach someone who will enjoy ‘De Vrouwe Berber’ as much as we have enjoyed her - Peter and Saar
